Danny's Disposal will be picking up your bagged leaves and yard waste on Saturday, November 3.  Please have leaves and yard waste in an unenclosed bag by the street before 8:00 A.M.  Please do not set garbage out on this day.  Please do not blow or rake grass clippings or leaves into the street. There are many good and practical reasons not to.

There were projects a plenty in town this summer including two road construction projects, the water tower, city utilities, as well as five other utility companies in town working on improvements. As we start to see the 2011 improvement projects coming to completion I want to thank all of the residents and businesses, once again, for your patience during the process.

That is probably the most frequently asked question in town these days. Fall is in the air and the next season is... somewhere out there.

We hope you like the concept of providing a seasonal newsletter to help bring better communication among us all on City happenings, rules, and projects.

Freeport has an opening for a part-time, permanent administrative assistant. This position assists the City Clerk in the overall administration of city services to assure compliance with the city's policies, goals, and programs; manages and coordinates special projects; assists with the economic development projects; and performs general office tasks as assigned by the City Clerk. Basic office machine and Microsoft Office software experience is required. Experience in governmental affairs preferred. Prior work history as an administrative assistant/secretary highly desired. Wage is $8.50 to $11.00 per hour, dependent upon qualifications. The work week is approximately 30 hours per week, 11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. No benefits are provided.
