Immediate Opening: 40 hours/week.

• Coordinates and directs city government operations. Oversees and coordinates the administration of all departments including personnel, equipment, utilities and facilities.
• Prepares and submits annual budget to the City Council, keeps Council informed of the financial condition of the City. Develops and issues administrative rules, policies and procedures. Manages and invests City funds in accordance with Council guidelines and sound financial practices; responsible for the accounting of all receipts and disbursements of City funds.
• Attends and participates in all Council and Economic Development Authority (EDA) meetings and other meetings with official bodies as directed by the Council; maintains minutes of the meetings. Ensures that laws and ordinances are updated.
• Evaluates potential projects, programs, and services to determine feasibility and community impact and makes recommendations to the Council.
• Oversees handling of complaints and requests for services. Liaison for state/county legislators/departments.

College degree in public administration, community development or related field preferred or
similar years of experience in public administration, accounting, finance or related field. Course work or experience in computer systems and software applications. Oral and written communications abilities. Experience in office organization/supervision.

Hello,

There were projects a plenty in town this summer including two road construction projects, the water tower, city utilities, as well as five other utility companies in town working on improvements. As we start to see the 2011 improvement projects coming to completion I want to thank all of the residents and businesses, once again, for your patience during the process.
