Action on Annexation Resolution No. 2005-005
Approval of the Joint Resolution of the City of Freeport and the Township of Oak Regarding the Orderly Annexation of the Property from the Town into the City – Action Required.
Mark Middendorf presented a formal petition on behalf of the Middendorf Brothers Partnership to annex 57 acres south of the Freeport Farm Center along County Road 11. Middendorf also stated that he has received approximately half a dozen requests for a variety of uses for the land. He is requesting to annex the land and present requests for zoning at a later point.
Bob Roelike brought up for discussion the possibility of a reimbursement for land annexed to the City. Roelike also stated that Oak Township meets at its regular meeting at 8:30 P.M. Monday, February 7, 2005 at the Oak Township Hall. Representatives from Oak Township also wanted to stress that the land being considered for annexation be used as conservatively as possible and that the City consider the long range impact on farming in the area.
Humbert moved and Goebel seconded a motion to approve Resolution 2005-005. Further discussion offered. Motion carried.
